Canada-based American Tungsten announced on Monday that it had appointed Ali Haji as CEO and that Murray Nye would assume the role of president, where he would continue to provide strategic guidance, support and leadership to the technical team as it advanced its flagship IMA tungsten mine in Idaho.

Haji has more than two decades of experience in metals and mining, investment management and publicly-listed capital markets. He was previously CEO of TSX-V-listed ION Energy, where he has led the company in advancing a portfolio of lithium assets, raising capital, and executing on a variety of transformative merger and acquisition initiatives.

“The team at American Tungsten under Murray’s leadership has done a tremendous job of securing and seeing the potential of the IMA mine, a past producer of the increasingly critical metal that is tungsten. I am honored to join the company and to lead American Tungsten alongside Murray. Together, we are committed to unlocking value at IMA and advancing the company’s vision of positioning American Tungsten to bring domestic tungsten production online,” said Haji.

Nye expressed confidence in Haji's leadership and track record, stating that he was excited to be working alongside the new CEO.
